Music is so good. Thank you God for music.

Instead of continuing on Philippians today, I just decided to pray and thank God for music. Even the best poems and literature cannot fully describe the full glory and beauty of music. It really is a glimpse into heaven. Sometimes, I'm just speechless hearing music that cuts right through to my heart. It bypasses all logic.

I meant to read 1 Corinthians 14:15, which was
"So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind."

But the verse that caught my eye and really spoke to me was
"Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church."

I know my gift is music. Actually I knew that since I was maybe 11. I want to use this gift to serve and minister to the congregation when I settle in a church here or when I go back to GPC in Singapore. It is really a joy to make music in worship!

11am now. Ah, but it feels so good to have adequate sleep. Yesterday was just madness - waking up 6.30am to queue for the pink sheet (practice rooms), and then whole day of rehearsals, performing with RNCM orchestra and then rushing like a mad woman on a cab to Bridgewater Hall to catch Andras Schiff play Bartok Concerto No. 1. Oh, did I mention that I walked back from Bridgewater to Sir Charles in the cold wearing a short dress!! Forgot to take my coat out to the RNCM concert and didn't have time to go back to get it.. The tropical girl cannot get used to carrying coats out... yet.

Gotta listen to Schumann Lieder now and do some notes cos I'm rehearsing with AT tonight in preparation for the song cycle competition. Such lovely music! Written by man who was very in love with his Clara.

Love + Music. Potent combination, I tell you.
