When did holidays stop being fun?

18:07. Monday. Labour day holiday.

I'm sitting with my red Lenovo, sitting at Coffee Bean in Chinatown, opposite YP.  He is absorbed with working on his upcoming presentation, and I with feeling frustrated with a non-registered PDL plus being unable to locate a decent hotel in BYG.

Just 2hours of battery left. Instead of hunting an impossible Chinese hotel, why not write and unload my mind? Is blogging really that therapeutic?

Sometimes it is.

Most of the time, it is.

I'm learning. Yes I am.
I'm learning to accept the blatant truth that cannot be changed.
I'm learning to love myself for who I am and what I am right now. Perhaps some things will change. Perhaps my physique might, perhaps my personality too. But it is important to accept and embrace the version of me right now. We'll deal with the changes later.
I'm learning to be open with my heart.
I'm learning to not let my yearning take over my life.
I'm learning to see that there is a reason for everything and its perhaps for the better if things work out one way rather than the way you preferred.
I'm learning to stop looking.
I'm learning to trust God to unveil His plans.

So many damn things to learn, to do, to accept, to be, to tolerate, to manage, to restrain...

The list goes on.

Just accept. Have no expectations. Anything would be a bonus, a pleasant surprise. Anything not, would be just nothing. But remember, nothing is not a disappointment when there is absolutely no expectations.

Can you handle this?

I'm learning to. That's my honest bit.

Holidays are not so fun these days. They are spent catching up on work. Or brooding over the work that is to come. When did holidays stop being fun? They used to be awesome days where you could wake up late, laze till noon, have lunch and then figure out something fun to do. Why do we start worrying about something as uninteresting as work when its our chance to have fun? And hang on a minute, when did THIS start happening?

Is this adulthood? Or is this conscientiousness manifesting itself as being responsible?

I find it a tad annoying.

The Annie Leibovitz photography exhibition at Tanjong Pagar railyway was rather thought provoking. The Captain America : Civil War movie was highly entertaining. Two small highlights in a tiny long weekend. It's not much, but it counts for something right?

I'm learning to be contented.
I'm learning to be at peace with the present.
I'm learning to accept the state of my relationships and friendships.

Go with the flow. Go with the flow.

Let life surprise you. In God's will. In God's time.
