FRIDAY
Had a really nice dinner with P @ Holland V, with her filling me in with details on the story of how she got pregnant and the ordeals since then till now, talked about the importance of "marrying well", which reminded me that there is only love between a couple if they first receive love from God. It's very true. As usual, my friends (and clients) are usually quite obsessed with my dating/marital status .. but it's interesting how she puts it - "so have you met anyone worthy of your love?". And for a moment, I was thinking "what? WORTHY?" I mean, who am I? I'm nobody... true isn't it? Honestly, I think about love and marriage at times, I do not forget the blessings of singleness. After all, I am happy at the moment. Rather joyful actually, no complains. So, leaving such matters to God is the best. Agree?
She is a friend I don't see often now but I'm glad to be still in her life. I'll never forget we immediately connected on the bus chatting. Just there and then! I guess it's just a frequency between two sisters who are honest, straightforward and totally intolerant of pretense. I'm excited for both of them, my goodness, a baby!! Will it be a boy or girl? Oh, I will be Auntie Pauline (as well as Teacher Pauline) to yet another precious little one. Haha.
SAT
F was sweet to accompany me to Mt Carmel on Sat evening for the sermon by Pastor Tan. So there is a story on this which is related to my post below on Ricky and the book. On my birthday this year, I got a book from Ade. So, actually I finished reading this book earlier this year. Then I decided to read it again recently. While doing so (in the comfort of my state-of-the-art ergonomic chair) on Thurs night, Ricky and I was in a sms exchange. So as I read on, I thought to myself "Hey this book is honest, with relevant issues addressed for an individual of today! Ricky could use a book like this! Let me see where i can buy the book..... " *surfs amazon, internet*. Asked Ricky for his address but didn't reveal why. Not much luck, so I sms Ade who asked me to try SKS. I'm teaching near SKS on Friday so hey I could pop over after lesson to buy it. But hey P sms me on Fri morning and so we were gonna meet right after lesson on Fri (plus it's raining) so that means SKS is out. I was kinda bummed cos I really wanted to get the book out to Ricky as soon as possible.
Then guess what?
Because I surfed for Pastor Tan, I got to his website (very first time) and learnt that he was holding a session on an issue (shall not name what) one of my close friends is facing. For some strange reason, I didn't think twice and made my mind immediately to attend it. I even called up the church office to make sure I could crash the session! So on Sat when F and I was at the church, Pastor Tan had copies of that book there available!!! Totally didn't expect it! I bought two copies, one for Ricky, one for S, another book for F ...all totalled $80. And it so happened I didn't put away the piano fees received a few days ago and I had just enough money to pay for all of it. Even F was surprised I had enough money (she was already opening her wallet to help when she heard $80 lol...) yeah people, I don't usually carry cash. So it all happened !!! A string of events... from the book, to the seminar on a valid topic, and the book for Ricky! And I didn't even TELL anyone or verbalise out loud that I wanted to buy the book for Ricky. It's was ONLY in my thoughts. What does this tell you? God is all-knowing. No kidding. He knows even our thoughts. And when he wants you to have something, he'll find ways and people to bring it to you.
SUN
Went to CEFC 8.30am service with R... it was so good to see her again. Though I noticed she looked a little down and wasn't as cheery but I didn't know what to say. I just keep quiet and listen. That's what I would like people to do when I'm in an awful or sad mood. Either leave me alone or just shut up and let me waddle in my own sulk. The sermon was good. Clear and sound. Revelations 7. After that, we had a long chat in the taxi (taxi uncle purposely took a damn long route for some reason, could be a blessing in disguise)... glad we had the time to talk face to face. She's going to Aussie end of year with JH and it sounds like an exciting self-drive trip! Wish I could go but I'm really happy she'll have some time off faraway with a sister she trusts. It shall be exciting and rejuvenating!

She had to go, so I had a small breakfast by myself at Rocky's (her recommendation) ....it was good. I feel like going there again sometime. The hot chocolate was heavenly. Yummy. Then I headed over to KK Hospital to visit K and J with their little premature princess L! Spent the entire late morning and afternoon there.
Then met E for dinner at City Hall/Suntec. I really liked it.. I think it's nice to spend time alone one on one with friends, and not always in a group. We had a nice chat while walking, a rather inexpensive pasta mania dinner (cos I'm on a shit budget this month) and then did some shopping (yay new clothes for E!). Well, I'm certain he can handle the job well and time will show :) We can be so short-sighted of our own potential sometimes, no? I hope he perseveres despite the inevitable worry.
MON
I mailed the book out to Ricky today. I don't know what the book will do to him. Maybe something. Maybe nothing. But I leave that to God too.
OK that was a lot of writing in one seating. And nobody would read that ever, except myself in the future. Special days should be penned and remembered.
